Tundra Transport Rentals is a locally owned car rental company based in Utqiagvik (Barrow), Alaska. We rent cars and 4x4 vehicles to residents, to contractors working rotations on the North Slope, and to government and agency personnel traveling for work.

The fleet is small and maintained locally, and kept ready for road conditions here through the year. We are not a franchise or a booking agent.

Booking is handled online so that a reservation can be confirmed without a phone call, at any hour and from outside Alaska. Collection is in person, in town, by appointment.

Tundra Transport Rentals trades as Tundra Transport Rentals LLC, an Alaska limited liability company organized on July 26, 2026 and member-managed by its owners. Its registered mailing address is PO Box 710, Barrow, AK 99723. The business is registered under the industry classification for passenger car rental, which is the only thing it does.

We publish a mailing address rather than a street address on purpose. Vehicles are collected at an agreed point in Utqiagvik by appointment, so there is no lot and no counter to visit — and the owners run this from a private home, which is not something that belongs on a website.

We do not take a booking we cannot honour: a vehicle held for your dates cannot be sold to anyone else for those dates, enforced in the database rather than by someone checking a diary. We do not quote a price the system did not calculate — the rate you see is read from the vehicle’s own record, so it is the rate you are charged. We do not charge the security deposit when you book; it is authorized in person at pickup and released when the vehicle comes back undamaged. And we do not text customers — booking notifications go to the owners, never out to a renter.

We are also not a tourism operator. Most of the fleet’s work is for residents, contractors on North Slope rotations, and government and agency personnel traveling for work, and the vehicles are specified for that — gravel roads, winter, and getting to a site on time rather than sightseeing.
